1- Look through the string commands below and determine which protocol is
appropriate for the service you are customizing.
2- Triple-click the string to select the entire line of the string command.
3- Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
4- Open the service dialer, press the Logon radio button, and paste the string
into the AutoLogon macro. The command string can be placed anywhere after
your logon password, (it must follow a semicolon from a previous logon
element). For example, assume the string below is your password in the
autologon macro. Note the line following that string that sets up Ymodem
for that service:
PR ("password");
key_xfer("Ymodem");
Inserting this command in the autologon macro allows a file transfer to start automatically for that service by pressing CMD+OPT+S for send (upload), and CMD+OPT+R for receive (download).
key_xfer("Kermit");
key_xfer("Xmodem");
key_xfer("Xmodem");
key_xfer("Xmodem CRC");
key_xfer("Ymodem-4K");
key_xfer("Ymodem");
key_xfer("Zmodem");
This command set speeds the file transfer process in two ways.
1- COMMAND+OPTION+ (R or S as applicable) chooses Send or Receive from the
Online menu, and in addition, chooses the preset protocol for that service.
2- Press COMMAND+ (R or S as applicable) to press the Receive or Send buttons
(as applicable) to begin the file transfer.
CMD+OPT+S Choose preset send protocol for that service.
CMD+S Press Send button.
CMD+OPT+R Choose preset receive protocol for that service.
• Many windows allow the keyboard equivalent of clicking buttons. Pressing ESCAPE is the same as clicking the Cancel button. Also, holding down the COMMAND key and pressing the first letter of a button name activates other buttons.
• Select text in scrollback, press CMD+C to copy the text to the clipboard and then press CMD+N to create a new empty document window, and with the new window active, press CMD+V to paste the contents of the clipboard to the new document window.
• Press CMD+PLUS and CMD+MINUS to change the font size in a terminal window or editor document.
• ProTERM allows the use of keyboard equivalents where possible. For example, the Command key plus the first letter of the name of most buttons activates that button. Try this: Attempt to quit ProTERM when a document or terminal window is open, but has not been saved. Enter CMD+Q to quit ProTERM. An alert window will open and ask “Save changes before closing?” In this case, CMD+N “presses” the No button, CMD+C presses the Cancel button and CMD+Y (or the RETURN key) presses the default Yes button.
